Seed and Bloom Therapy

Therapy Services

I offer counseling and therapy services through virtual and in-person sessions. Here are the various therapeutic topics I specialize in.

Co-Occurring Substance Use Disorder Therapy

Co-occurring substance use disorders pertain to the circumstance where an individual simultaneously confronts both a substance abuse or addiction problem and a mental health condition. The combination of these two issues can intensify their effects, making addressing them more challenging. I have undergone specialized training and extensive experience in treating individuals battling substance abuse and a co-occurring mental health condition

Disordered Eating Therapy

Disordered eating entails an unhealthy fixation on body weight, shape, and food choices. Its manifestations can take various forms, including rigid dieting, obsessive calorie counting, episodes of binge eating, and engagement in purging behaviors (such as self-induced vomiting or misuse of laxatives). Seeking assistance and support is crucial if you or someone you know is grappling with disordered eating, as it can lead to severe physical and mental health consequences. I deeply understand the complexities of disordered eating and the underlying factors that contribute to it. I am here to help you establish a healthy relationship with food, your body, and your mind.

Grief and Loss Therapy

Grief and loss are feelings we experience when something or someone important to us is no longer present in our lives. It could be the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, the loss of a job, or any significant change that leaves us feeling sadness and longing. Each person’s experience of grief is unique, and there is no right or wrong way to grieve.

Grief and loss counseling is a type of therapy that helps individuals experiencing these intense emotions and struggles after the death of a loved one or significant loss. During grief therapy, I’ll provide support and guidance during the grieving process to help you navigate through the many emotions that can arise, such as sadness, anger, guilt, confusion, and even relief. I am here to create a safe space for you to express your feelings and share your memories of the person or thing you have lost.

End of Life Therapy

End of life refers to the stage of a person’s life when they are nearing the end of their natural lifespan and facing the prospect of death. It’s a time when their health or condition has declined to a point where recovery or improvement is unlikely. This stage can vary in duration, from a few weeks to several months, and each person’s specific needs and experiences can differ.

As a trained therapist, I am here to provide physical, emotional, and spiritual support to the person nearing the end of their life, as well as their loved ones. I help individuals and their families navigate the complex emotions and decisions that may come up and offer them a safe space to discuss fears, worries, and unresolved issues. At the end of the day, my goal is to give you the tools and support you need to navigate the challenges of this stage with greater understanding, peace, and acceptance.

Complex Trauma Therapy

Complex trauma refers to severe and prolonged trauma or adversity that occurs during childhood or over an extended period. It involves multiple traumatic events or situations that can impact a person’s well-being and development.

Unlike a single traumatic event, such as a car accident, complex trauma involves repeated or chronic exposure to trauma. Examples of complex trauma can include:

  • Ongoing abuse (physical, emotional, or sexual).
  • Neglect.
  • Witnessing violence.
  • Living in an unstable or unsafe environment.

Recovering from complex trauma requires specialized support and therapeutic interventions. I am here to help trauma survivors understand and process their traumatic experiences, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and rebuild a sense of safety and self-worth. With the right support system by your side, it is possible to move forward and live a fulfilling life beyond the impact of your traumatic experiences.

Career Therapy

Career therapy, also known as career counseling, helps individuals navigate their career paths and make informed decisions about their professional lives. At Seed and Bloom, it involves exploring career options, setting goals, and developing strategies to achieve those goals. I will help you assess your interests, strengths, values, and skills to better understand what you want in a career. I will also use various assessment tools and exercises to uncover your preferences and identify potential career paths that align with those preferences. My goal is to empower you to make informed decisions about your career, find fulfillment, and achieve professional success.

Depression Therapy

Depression is a mental health condition characterized by persistent sadness, emptiness, and a loss of interest or pleasure in once enjoyable activities. Depression can also bring about physical symptoms such as changes in appetite, sleep disturbances, fatigue, and difficulty concentrating.

During depression therapy, I will create a safe and non-judgmental space for you to express your
thoughts and emotions. I will also use various therapeutic techniques to help you understand the underlying causes of your depression and develop coping skills to navigate through negative emotions, thoughts, and behaviors.

My goal is to help you challenge negative thought patterns and replace them with more positive and realistic ones. We will also work together to explore past experiences or traumas that could be contributing to your depression.

Anxiety Therapy

Anxiety is a common mental health condition characterized by feelings of worry, fear, and unease. It is a natural response to stressful situations, but anxiety can become overwhelming for some people and interfere with their daily lives. People with anxiety may experience physical symptoms like a racing heart, shortness of breath, restlessness, and difficulty concentrating daily.

During anxiety therapy, I will create a space for you to openly discuss your fears and worries. Then, we will work together to uncover the root cause of your anxiety and identify triggers that contribute to their symptoms. I will teach you relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing exercises or mindfulness, to help you calm your anxious thoughts and nervous system.

Another technique I use in anxiety therapy is cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). This technique focuses on changing your negative thought patterns and behaviors associated with anxiety. I will help you challenge and reframe irrational thoughts and develop more realistic and positive thinking patterns. With time and practice, you’ll learn to manage anxiety, build resilience, and regain a sense of confidence.
